Performance Principles

PREPARE TO EXECUTE.

Eight connected principles shape how athletes move, process, respond, and perform.

01Movement+

The ability to control and efficiently move the body in every direction required by sport and everyday life — linear, lateral, rotational, acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, and multidirectional movement.

02Mobility+

The ability to actively move a joint or body segment through the range of motion needed to perform efficiently.

03Coordination+

The ability to organize different parts of the body to work together efficiently, connecting what athletes see, hear, feel, and do.

04Balance+

The ability to control the body while stationary and moving — especially when accelerating, decelerating, changing direction, battling for position, or striking a ball.

05Strength+

The ability to produce and control force. To be strong is to become fast.

06Power+

The ability to apply strength with speed, intent, and control.

07Reaction+

The ability to recognize information and adapt quickly to the demands of the moment.

08Execution+

Turning preparation into action when it matters. Athletes don’t get rewarded for knowing what to do. They get the opportunity to perform when they can execute.
